Chuckii Booker - Chuckii

Chuckii was released in 1989, before the masses knew to what extent the New Jack movement would travel. Chuckii Booker was a prolific force in soul and R&B, but also in pushing production styles in the direction of what has now become a staple memory of the early 90's. This would be the first of two LPs for Mr. Booker. However, Chuckii has maintained numerous production credits in the studio and live. Having been the musical director for Janet Jackson's Rythmn Nation 1814 tour. Chuckii also produced New Jack Swing pop sensation Troop, as well soul artist Lalah Hathaway. Chuckii can be spotted all over the music industry today, as a producer or musical director.

More Chuckii 12" to follow, enjoy. Don't forget to reserve your room in Hotel Happiness.

Truly remarkable songwriting and producing. An example of "how its done" and an exemplary work worthy of near worship for fans of R+B, Jazz, Funk and Fusion. Showcases a unique and at the same time familiar smooth and syncopated production style.
George Duke was listening to Chuckii! Stevie was listening to Chuckii!

Key Track: "Hotel Happiness"
